Read the water. Choose the simplest useful setup.

Western fly fishing uses a weighted fly line to cast a nearly weightless fly. This gives anglers a flexible approach for rivers and still water, with techniques and tackle changing to fit local species, current, weather and access. These lessons are a starting point; local regulations and conditions always take precedence.
