The Murray River is a freestone river in Western Australia. Western Australia's Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) names it among “the most popular trout waters in WA” in its South-west freshwater angling guide and named it as a trout-stocking location in a 2025 announcement. This is the Western Australian Murray River (Dwellingup / Peel region), not the Murray-Darling.
